Hydrogen refuelling is moving from demonstration to deployment. Operators across Europe — from H2 Mobility and Motive to Element 2, Resato, and Hylane — are building networks to serve heavy-duty trucks, buses, coaches, and passenger vehicles at 350 and 700 bar.

The talent this sector needs is distinctive. Station rollout requires people who understand high-pressure gas systems, safety engineering, planning and consenting for hazardous installations, and the commercial reality of utilisation-dependent business models.

Grid connection is another growing specialism — many hydrogen refuelling stations are co-located with on-site electrolysis, which means large power connections and increasingly complex relationships with DNOs.
